Ben Clover – Screenwriter
Ben Clover was born in Lewisham, south east London and was educated at the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College in New Cross. He studied History at York University and after graduating worked in a variety of jobs including as a Postman and working on the Cutty Sark visitor attraction in Greenwich. He currently works as a Reporter for the South London Press.
Ben’s play RASPUTIN was produced at York University in 2002 and was described by local newspaper The Vision as “a consistently excellent play…well structured, funny and thoughtful.” In 2003 he was selected to take part in the Royal Court Young Writers’ Programme and has also written and performed his stand up comedy act at venues including Up the Creek, Other Side, East Dulwich Tavern, and the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club.
A FITTING TRIBUTE was partly inspired by Ben’s job as a local news reporter on the South London Press will be Ben’s first produced screenplay. He has continued his collaboration with director Daniel Cormack – his friend from primary school - with the comedy NIGHTWALKINGfunded by the Tripod Film Fund and starring Raquel Cassidy (TEACHERS / PARTY ANIMALS).
